Extremely slow performance of the Alignment function in Studio 2015

Question

Hello,

I have been busy aligning in Studio 2015, and I keep experiencing extremely bad/slow performance in the alignment editor, especially when disconnecting and reconnecting segments. But even scrolling is slow. The bigger the files, the worse it gets.

My Studio version is SR3 12.3.5281.10

My computer is only a few months old and has very high specs, so that cannot be the issue. I have no problems whatsoever processing large files for translation, only for aligning.
Has anyone had similar issues? Any ideas what might cause this or how this can be solved?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried tackling the alignment in a different way? Maybe disconnect all your segments to start with and then go through the document aligning only certain segments at intervals of 20 or 50 segments as appropriate. Then finally realign the entire file. This might be faster and if you are careful with your choices the realignment should be good. This article explains:

Why not use WinAlign then? Scroll down a little in this article and it explains how to do this even if you only have Studio 2017 installed.

ok. In this case I would still try the disconnect idea because ignoring additional lines in the source should not be a problem. But you are correct in that there are many things lacking ion the alignment tool for Studio so I'd say it's always better to try and get the source files to give yourself more flexibility until we address it properly.
