I have created a project and added files to it. I have worked in one of the files and closed it again, however the progress is not shown on my 'files' screen and I cannot open the files for editing (open for translation is not an option).

Hi Sophie Langenberg ,

Many apologies for the basic question, but have you selected the file so it's active? perhaps this is why the open for translation button is not active.

Hi, thanks for the tip. It seems however that this was not the problem. After restarting my computer and Trados, the files can now be opened without a problem.
