problem opening packages in Studio 2017

Hello,

I have a problem opening any package I receive for translation ever since I installed Studio 2017. Even after I installed the SR1 package, I'm still facing the same issue. Every time I try to open a package I receive the following error:

"The process cannot open the file ... because it is being used by another process." (photo attached)

and when I try to double click the package, I receive the following:

I had colleagues that faced the same issue but they solved it by installing the WordServerComponents.msi. I tried it but it didn't work for me. Is there any solution to this problem?

Thank you.

    Hi again

Just a thought... Is this latest version of Studio/MultiTerm added to your antivirus/antimalware/firewall software exclusions list/s??

I wonder if there has been a name change somewhere in the address after installation so your antivirus software isn't seeing that it's accepted.

This would maybe cause an antivirus scan of the file, which might then trigger the 'in use by another process' message...

If you have Windows Defender, for example, here's where you add exclusions of files or folder:

As you'll see, you can add the executable files under 'exclude a file' or the whole folders as I have under 'Exclude a folder' or indeed add the file extension as I have with sdlxliff and .sdlppx, for real overkill ;-)

You can even add processes, scrolling down from the above...

Not sure whether I added those manually or they were added automatically via the folders I excluded. Long time since I did this...

    It's worth a try...?

    Bon courage
