Error: The specified URI is not a valid server-based translation memory URI. Parametername: uri Trados blocked!

 When trying to select Translate single document I get the following message: The specified URI is not a valid server-based memory URI. Parameter name: uri.
Then when I click OK I get the window to select languages but as soon as I try to select the first language I get the same message. I cannot use Trados and cannot work.
Software patches and updates are installed. This problem has been known and discussed for a while now but apparently not solved. Any new solution?

    Hi ,

    I think you should try a reset of the software.

    Uninstall Studio

    Manually remove the following folders

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Studio 2017\Projects\projects.xml

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Studio 2017\Project Templates\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\ProjectApi\14.0.0.0\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0\

    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\

    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0\

    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5\

    c:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5\

    Then reinstall Studio. If that still fails to help then I'd recommend you log a support case. For licensing or installation issues that prevent you from working we have a route for all customers to get help. This can be achieved really quickly using this link:

    You have two options:

    1. Submit a case using a webform
    2. Use live chat to get a licence reset

    You want to use the first option. But do try the full reset first as the support team will probably do this anyway.
