Error message - Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt -

Question

Dear all, 
 I use Studio 2017 last version last release. I can not confirm my translated segments, since I get always the same message "Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt". 
 Could anyone tell me what to do ?

Hi Katia, 
Sometimes, it is just enough to restart Studio. If that doesn't do the trick, go to View > Reset window layout.

 Unfortunately such error messages are generic and dont on their own tell us the possible source. 
 Could you add the Stack trace/error file please to this post as this will help us identify the root cause

If you have reset Studio as advised-without resolution. 
 Please 
 1) make sure you have run the update in MultiTerm as well. 
 2) maybe try to recreate the project and running the source file through the existing TM- 
 are you then able to save?

 I am now pretty sure this is caused by a change in the verification process (File/Options/Verifications) and one of the sub commands. 
 However I am not an expert on this and hope my colleague Paul or another professional can help out on this.

The out of memory issue is due to the weblookup plugin. Most probably related to Linguee, Pons and Dilbert. If you don't use these sites in the tool then remove them. Also try editing your Internet Explorer settings; go to “Tools > Internet Options > Security > Custom level" and disable active scripting. That may be the cause of your problem.

Did you mean Translation Memory and not termbase earlier too? Double check that your project is using exactly the same languages as your Translation Memory. If it isn't you can probably add your TM using AnyTM when you select your TM.

Please try the following. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: 
 
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0 
 
If this doesn't help disable your AntiVirus temporarily and see if this makes any difference? If it doesn't then please log a support case. You have two options: 
 
1. Submit a case using a webform 
2. Use live chat to get a licence reset

 I didn't tell you to rename the file or the folder to be translated. I wanted you to rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio: c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0 
 So you would rename the last folder in the path like this for example: 
 c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0_old 
 Then just restart Studio.
