Fails to open the Suite 2017, because it's unsupported by System Globalization Japanese Calendar

I successfully installed the SDL Trados Suite 2017 with its AutoSuggest and tried to upgrade my previous TMs created by Trados 2007 and Suite 2009, which had "yy/mm/dd" in their filenames. The Suite 2017 returned the error message in Japanese saying "The Date Time calendar expressed in character/letter strings is not supported by System Globalization Japanese Calendar." The TM upgrade failed. I closed the Suite 2017, shut down and rebooted my PC and tried to open the Suite 2017. Now it returns the same error message and "refuses" to open. Please let me know the solution(s) for this error. Now I can't even open the application! Thank you!

  • Dear Paul,

    Than you. They did.

    Correction of the description:
It was "Calendar System Globalization-JapaneseCalendar," not "System Globalization Japanese Calendar." And I used Japanese characters in the filenames.

Probably if I remove the application, reinstall it and never use any Japanese characters in filenames, this will be solved. But as I had installed many SDL apps with this, I can't tell which application name stands for this Suite 2017. All of the SDL apps seem to have the words Suite 2017 in their application short names. Maybe I should remove all of those which have the 2017 in their filename...

Anyway, I"ll contact the Support Team. They may have better options/solutions.

    Thank you for your support.
    Best regards,
    Sophie
