CSV file a WordPress export problem when setting up for a translation

I have a problem with working my way around starting a translation of a CSV 2.0.0.0 file (Wordpress export).

Excell shows me 12k lines of code + text and SDL Trados Studio 2017 SR1 seems to only be able to get some 1000 words.

In editor mode I get both source and target full of text with source consisting only of numbers of lines and target consisting of some of the code+text

Please advise how to proceed with this one.

PS I should mention that had also problems with XLIFF exports .

  • Dear Paul,

I've been trying your suggestion a good portion of this day and got nowhere, because in my SDL Trados Studio SR1 there are no predefined or default "Tag definition rules" and I was unable to find any update packs or predefined libraries that would simply automate this process.

Further I was trying to insert my own rules, just to give it a try. I've inserted those parts of the code I'm familiar with (<em>, </em>, <h2>, </h2>).
I did that while opening a new project and got literaly nowhere.

Is there something I'm missing? Is there a place that provides there rules that include default wordpress code architecture?

    Thank you
