Failed to save project template 'Default' to 'C:\users\Daniel\Documents\Studio 2015\Project Templates\Default.sdltpl'

Out of the blue getting this message, and being unable to use Trados. Renaming the Default template or using the sample template didn't help.

Wasted one day of work on this. If any one has a solution, many thanks in advance. However, I can't be the only one with this problem, and I don't think the Trados team is very supportive ...

    can you try deleting, or renaming, the default template here:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Studio 2015\Project Templates\Default.sdltpl

    Then restart Studio and try again.  This will recreate the default but with all default settings, so if you had TMs and Termbases and other settings like verification for example in there they will be lost.  So if you prefer just rename it for now...  add this to the end of the template name instead of deleting it:

    Default.sdltpl_orig

    Then if the problem still occurs you can restore this while we try something else.

  • Thanks Paul, I had seen this option and tried it, but got the same result as the person to whom it had already been suggested. Didn't work.

  • Paul, I have tried renaming/deleting/moving the Default.sdltpl file.
    I have tried replacing it with a sample default.sdtpl file.
    I have tried (twice) uninstalling the application. Once I installed the original version, once version SR3. I even changed the name of the Studio 2015 folder and of the Default.sdltpl file, and then the program would not even start and I got this message: "Service 'Sdl.TranslationStudio.Api.ProjectManagement.IProjectManagementService' cold not be started"
    The new installation didn't create a new Studio 2015 folder.
