Creating New Translation Memories in Studio 2017

I am having issues creating a new translation memory in Studios 2017.  Every time I try doing so an error message pops up and cannot do anything.  Work in several languages and cannot seem to create any memory base for second language

  • I am trying to do it within Trados itself by going to new translation memory and can't do it any more. been having problems with it suddenly. Whenever I open a document to translate and choose the language pairs would not let me get any further than that even though i clicked on the ok. Cannot even create a translation memory for my second working pairs
  • had to completely reinstall Trados on my computer and since then been having issues with the translation memory creation and then to use the memory I was able to supposedly create. Found a way to open it by going into the option and setting it as Source language to target language automatically for now. But can only do that for one language pair. Can't see to open a project and choosing the language pairs to click ok to go straight to translate Won't let me pass that screen after choosing language pairs.
  • ok - I would do a reset first and see if this helps. I don't know exactly why you are seeing this error with these operations but a reset can often fix a number of strange things.

Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0

So the path would become this:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14.0.0.0_old

If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:

    www.howtogeek.com/.../

If that doesn't help, and if no one else has any bright ideas from having seen this before, then log a support case. For licensing or installation issues that prevent you from working we have a route for all customers to get help and I would say this classes as an installation issue. This can be achieved really quickly using this link:

    gateway.sdl.com/liveagentlicensing

    You have two options:

    1. Submit a case using a webform
    2. Use live chat to get a licence reset

You want to use the first option and make sure that you refer to this thread so the teams can see what you have tried already.

    Regards

Within I try and do Sft + Alt + N and it gives me this error message.
Even when I try to do it through the project settings gives me that error message

And when I try to open a single document to translate and the popup screen that appears asking for source and target language once I put the ones in and try to click on ok it will not go any further than that. Have to play with the language pairs a bit for it to work. Then went and automatically set it in options for the only pair I was able to set up a TM for
