Blank Multiterm entry, "firstChild" and helper.js error

Question

When opening Multiterm, the term list displays just fine, but it's impossible to view or edit the entries. Only the Copyright mention is visible. 
 
 The entry content displays with the Default layout though. 
 When trying to edit or copy the entry, the following error appears: 
 
 The same error occurs in Studio in the terminology view. 
 I uninstalled both MT and Studio as well as Java and reinstalled everything, with no result. My guess is that my local configuration was changed, but I unfortunately can't retrace the changes... The "regsvr32 jscript.dll" didn't help either. 
 Any idea about this problem?

Thank you for your support. As discussed, the problem was probably due to my local PC configuration. I finally did a reset of my Windows 10 installation, keeping my files though. It worked just fine, Studio and Multiterm immediately were back to normal after that.

I think adding to Annemieke's suggestion, maybe you are using the Weblook up tool? 
 
If this is the case, then the following solution may help to provide a lasting resolution. 
 
 gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge 
 
Also please ensure you have Ative X enabled in IE

This issue has really got my interest peeked and after researching a fair bit, so far not been able to find a match for this error. 
The only sure thing so far is, the origin is indeed javascript- but not the source of the issue. 
 
I think therefore your suggestion regarding Firewall and Antivirus is worth investigating. 
Can you first disable your AV/Firewall- run another repair on MultiTerm and Studio and restart- 
 
Also if you could share your Termbase with me (swhale@sdl.com) I can look to see if I get the same behavior. 
This I think would show if its a Termbase issue or indeed a Windows problem.

 Although I have replied directly via email (thank you for the TB) I wanted to update this post in the hope that someone else might see this and have a suggestion. 
 I saved your TB on both a Windows 10 and Windows 7 machine and tested the scenario both in German (UI) and English (UI) to try and replicate this problem- 
 but without any problems.... 
 
 Here is hoping that there is a wizard out there than can possible shine a light on this.
