MQXLIFF segment status mapping

Hello everyone,

When processing an mqxliff file in Studio, after exporting it back and upon importing it into MemoQ all the segments appear as unconfirmed, and need to be confirmed manually in MemoQ. I see that the segment status from SDLXLIFF to MQXLIFF is Translated=Translated, but since that wasn't working, I tried changing it to Translated=Confirmed, which doesn't work either. Examining the target MQXLIFF in Notepad++ shows that no segments have the "Confirmed" status, they all still appear as "Translated".

What am I missing here? What should be the right settings for proper segment status mapping?

  • It's 2026 now, and it still doesn't seem to work as expected. Not a big deal though, as I just select all and confirm the segments once I have imported the file back into memoQ, but it would be nice.

I work nearly on daily basis this way, exporting memoQ to Trados and importing it back. TBH I never found the necessity to confirm the segments in memoQ to be the wrong way. Sometimes I merge segments, so there are some empty segments afterwards in memoQ. Would all have been confirmed, I might oversee this, which might lead to problems. So my way of working is very simple:

    • In memoQ switch to manual update instead of automatic update
    • Create a view for more files, if necessary
    • Export to bilingual
    • Translate this in Trados
    • Import back to memoQ, with the "make changed rows edited" option selected
    • Open the view in memoQ, press CTRL+SHIFT+A and confirm all in one go
    • Should there be segments which need to be reworked, do that
