What could cause the target translation to remain in the source language?

In Studio 2017, the target file remains in the source language. We're using a custom file type. I've tried "Generate Target Translations" and "Export Files".

  • Please rewrite the file type completely from scratch in Studio 2017. Importing file types from older Studio versions may cause problems. I have experienced this with a quite simple XML file type, which after being imported from Studio 2015 into Studio 2017 started to cause extra line breaks in the target file and quite a big complaint from my customer. After having recreated this file type no problems whatsoever occur.
