I can't see or open a newly-created term-based translation memory. When I try to open a new document, I can see it on the list of translation memories, but the icon is missing the orange triangle. I tried deleting the TM and creating a new one with a new name, but got the same result. I currently have over a dozen TMs in my list and they all work properly, but I don't know why this one doesn't! Can anyone suggest a fix for this?

The orange triangle is nothing to worry about. It indicates that a TM has not been upgraded for upLIFT and doesn't mean you can or can't use it.
Where are you looking for this TM? Is it in your TM view, i.e. here:
If this is what you mean, it won't appear in the list until you've opened it via Open (unless you created it via the 'New' button actually in the TM View*)...
If that's not what you mean, where are you trying to look at/open it, via what part of what software?
