Cannot add/quick add terms using any menu options or shortcuts etc at all; termbase viewer window behaving ultra-erratically. (Studio 2017 SR1 14.1.6413.8, Multiterm 14.1.2471.5 )

Studio has suddenly stopped adding terms to my trusty termbase without giving me a notification. (Hence the many, many terms I thought I had added yesterday and today to my project don't exist :). "Add term" and " Quick add term" not greyed out in Studio, btw.

Also, termbase viewer window behaves erratically -- refuses to appear, or disappears after 10 seconds or so, or flashes (!) on and off. Most often "flags layout" or other layout options are greyed out, but even when I can occasionally select e.g. default layout, because I have docked/undocked a window etc. I still cannot add term.

Tried to resort to Multiterm proper instead, but no success at all. All that happens when I try to add a term is an empty tab labelled " [...]"

I have tried: resetting window layout, docking and undocking

I have tried: updating both Trados and Multiterm.

I have tried: creating a new termbase based on the old one

I have tried: using another termbase

I have tried: restarting Studio, restarting Windows, renaming folders under App Data/Roaming (both Trados and Multiterm), using Windows "repair program" options for both Trados and Multiterm.

At my wits' end -- I really need to get this sorted asap!

Any suggestions about what to try would be enormously appreciated!!!

    I wonder why you didn't receive a notification of my post. You should have at least received notification that I had mentioned you in a post, because I added an active link with your name. Also, the 'receive notifications' box is ticked by default (as below) so unless you unticked it, you should have received a notification of my post also. You could check your email spam folder. If you're using Outlook or similar on-PC email software, you may have to check the spam folder on your online email interface.

    Anyway, I'm so glad that the Help team were able to sort out your issue quickly. Thanks very much for sharing the solution here, it will help future users in the same position as you.
