.ini files

hello,

i was using trados 2007 until last week. This week, we had trados 2015 studio installed on our machines. Now, we use ini (settings) files in trados 2007. I know that we can add them to 2015 too, but i cannot find the place where I can. we have about 8-9 different ini files for various product/document type.

Is there a way to add them?

any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello Aditya,

under File >> Options >> File Types a new file type / new file types can be created

Trados Studio Options dialog showing File Types list with various file types like INI, XML, DOCX, and options to add or remove file types.

    for:

Select Type dialog with options for Simple Delimited Text, HTML, Regular Expression Delimited Text, XML (Embedded Content), and XML (Legacy Embedded Content).

During filetype creation the *.ini file required can be integrated.

Create File Type dialog with XML Settings Import section and options to define settings based on DTD, ANI, XML, XSD, or ETD rule file.

And, (in your case), you may create a separate file type for each *.ini you have. The priority of the respective file type may be increased or decreased by moving the selected file type up or down - also under File >> Options >> File Types so that it can be moved to the top of a respective file type before project creation.

Trados Studio Options dialog showing File Types list with a new file type added and highlighted, with options to adjust priority by moving up or down.

Hope this helps - best - Renate Dockhorn
