Just for fun...

Hi,

Well, I am quite used to Trados Studio's (now 2017) crashing all the time (often without any error message). My fingers are always ready to press Ctrl + S after some epic functions (e.g. split or merge segments) - it is part of my daily routine...

I am also aware of the fact that Studio should not be able to handle any converted documents (from PDF to Word - why not?).

However, I must share the attached screenshot of an error message received when preparing a simple Word file for tanslation. It is so beautiful...

Kind regards

Sandor

Does that happen if you disable the weblookup tool? Have you got the latest version of it and have you configured it based on the developers advice?

Studio can handle converted documents, PDF to Word. But the advice, and this would be the same advice for any CAT tool, is that handling PDFs directly is a bad idea and it's always better to spend a little time up front converting them to Word and then cleaning them up before you translate them.

If Studio is crashing all the time for you then there is clearly a problem and you should contact the support team so they can help you find the source of the issue and resolve it.
