My Trados Studio 2017 does not allow me to choose the language-pair when I open a new project

Question

Hello everyone, 
 The Translation Memory window does not pop-out when I open a new project; therefore, I cannot choose the language-pair. My Trados Studio 2017 automatically choose EN(US)-SP(Latam). I must have clicked the option of "do not show this window again", not sure. 
 Does anyone know how I can "recover" this option, so I can choose the language-pair I want before starting translating a project?

 If I understand you correctly, you have already created the project and the issue arises when you open the project for translation? 
 If so simply go to the 'project settings' option in the top left of your screen

Now you should be able to create or use a TM

Hi Pablo, 
 
When you create a new TM from within a project, only the languages in the project are offered for selection, that's why you can't create a new TM with a different language combination. 
 
You can still use your existing TM with the project, but because it's a different language combination than the project, you need to add it via AnyTM by clicking on Use, then AnyTM: Any file-based TM. 
 
If you don't want to do that, then the other option would be to create a new project with the right language combination.

At a guess I'd say Pablo means Spanish Latin America... so es-419 as you thought.

If the files are opening automagically it sounds as though you are using bilingual files as source and these will have recognised languages so open immediately based on the language combination of the files. You can add TMs later in your project settings. 
Perhaps you can elaborate a little and explain the step by step process you are going through? Also tell us what type of source files you are translating?
