Create a New Project in Studio 2019 (SR 1 - 15.1.2.48878)

Hi!

Every time I try to use the 'Create a New Project' wizard, no matter if I want to create a project from scratch or using one of my templates, the wizard behaves like this:

1. I add Project Name, select languages, add Location Path and then I add translation files.

2. Once I add the files, I get the following error message: "The specified project location folder already contains some files. Please specify and empty or non-existing folder" (non-existing folder?!? - haha, good one). NOTE: I ALWAYS give Studio a location to a new and empty folder.

3. When I try to cancel the wizard, I get the above error message over and over again, it is also impossible to close Studio normally and I have to close it through Task Manager.

4. I open Studio again and THEN I can create a project without any errors, doing everything exactly as I did in the first attempt.

This happens every time. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly sure if this has been happening since I purchased 2019 or since I installed SR1.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

Aleksandra

So far as I know, you must not give Studio an empty folder, because Studio CREATES the project folder. For location path, you must specify the folder (e.g. Projects) inside which you want Studio to CREATE the new project folder for this project (e.g. Projects\Project1).
If you create a folder yourself called 'Project1' and put your source files in it, and then tell Studio that the location path is Project1, you will get this error message, I think.
My set up is that I have a folder called 'New Work' for all incoming source files, and a folder called 'Projects' for all new projects. Because Studio remembers where you last put something, it always asks to put the new project folder inside the 'Projects' folder and it always looks in 'New Work' for the source files. Saves a lot of time browsing. After the project is created, you can move the source files from 'New Work' to your created project folder, or delete them as they will already be in the source language folder of the project.
