is there a way to convert the source part of an xliff into a Word documet?

Hi! I'm currently in a project in which I've been asked to filter the repetitions of an xliff document and then extract them into a Word document (before doing the translation? is there a way in Trados directly or through an app to do this?

 There is no possible to convert a xliff into a word in Studio. Maybe you can find an external program to do that or try the workaround below: 
 Open the xliff in Studio and perform and advance filter for "Repetitions" and then copy the results in an external Word: 
 In the editor view --> View tab (1) --> Advanced Display Filter (2) --> Filter Attributes and search for "Repetitions" and chose "All" (3) --> move it on the "Selected" part (4) and then click on "Apply Filter" (1 form the image 2)

 Two questions: 
 When you say 'xliff' do you mean an sdlxliff that has been created by Studio and is part of a Studio project? 
 Do you have Microsoft Word installed on your system? 
 If the answer to both these questions is 'yes', then with the sdlxliff open in the Studio Editor, you can use the display filter on the Review tab to display for repetitions (or just the first instances, or without the first instances if that's what is required), highlight all entries displayed then copy and paste to a Word document. 
 If you need more precise instructions post here, letting me know which version of Studio you are using, and I'll provide some. 
 If you are talking about an actual .xlf file, you can create a project to open it as an sdlxliff then proceed as above.

Perhaps just another idea... 
 
1. Install the Community Advanced Display Filter from the AppStore 
2. Filter on your repetitions as already explained 
3. Use the export to SDLXLIFF feature that is available in the Community Advanced Display Filter 
4. Open the exported SDLXLIFF in Studio that now only contains repetitions 
5. Export for bilingual review 
 
Or... 
 
1. When you create your project in Studio use the option to "Export Frequent Segments" 
2. This will add a new SDLXLIFF file to a folder in your project containing the repetitions only 
3. Open the SDLXLIFF in Studio that only contains repetitions 
4. Export for bilingual review

 I'm glad you were able to copy and paste into Word. It's probably the quickest way to achieve what you want. 
 It would be quite a complex thing to program, to be able to save only part of a file to Target. It would have to automatically include the file's opening and closing tags (invisible from the SDLXLIFF) at the beginning and end of the file, and also the beginning and ending tags of any sections one wished to include. I'm not sure that it would be possible... 
 If you wish, you could suggest it in the ideas section (accessible via the top toolbar in this page, via Ideas>SDL Trados Studio Ideas).
