Problem creating a project with MIF files

Question

Hi, 
 I am trying to create a translation project with FrameMaker files. I requested that these were sent to me in MIF format, as I believe this is the format that SDL Trados accepts. 
 These are the errors that I received: 
 
 I tried ticking the box for "Process unsupported file types" and then changing the usage to translatable. One of the files then changed to show Adobe FrameMaker, but the other did not and I got the following error: 
 
 Any ideas what I can do? Is there a specific format that the FrameMaker files need to be in?

Hi Sabrina Palmeri 
 These files contain a lot of information apart from the text and in many cases we would need to have the Adobe products installed on the computer so that they could be read and processed properly (with the necessary components). Studio 2019 SR2 (released at the end of the month) will have an improved file type filter which should also help with this. This being said, in this case it might be just a question of the file type settings. Could you please send me the files so I can test them on my computer? 
 Alternatively, I wonder if you could get these files exported to IDML instead? They are generally easier to process (even if you don't have InDesign installed).

First: changing anything in File -> Options will NOT influence any existing project and also not influence any but the default project template. If you change the settings here, they will be used next time for single file approach or a project based on a default template. 
 So instead go to File -> Setup -> Project templates and modify the template used. When you start modifying the template, go to File types and click the Adobe Framemaker 8-2020 MIF V2 on the LEFT side. In Common activate the highlighted option:

Trados Studio > 1. Trados Studio
