Font/incorrectly-rendered character issue in Studio 2019

Hello,

I encountered a font/incorrectly-rendered character issue in Studio 2019.Trados Studio 2019 interface showing Traditional Chinese characters rendered as squares indicating a font issue.

Some of the Traditional Chinese characters are shown as squares in my Studio.

I tried to restore the font setting by following the steps described on this page:

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-desktop/how-do-i-fix-corrupted-font-files-in-windows-7/xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

However, it does not work for me.

My OS: Windows 10 Home edition

Studio version: SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR1 - 15.1.2.48878 (Freelance version)

Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

Thanks,

Nancy

  • Hi

I am looking at the sdlxlff you sent me and don't see any characters displaying incorrectly.  Can you tell me the segment numbers in case I'm just missing them?

As it stands it does suggest that the problem is related to the font you are using for the display of the target text.  Just to make sure please confirm what you seewhen you go to here:

Trados Studio options menu with Font Adaptation section highlighted, showing no errors or warnings.

If you see the same thing the issue might be related to the available fonts on your system.  In this case try using another font from the list.
