Dragon Naturally Speaking v15 seems to be incompatible with Trados

I've commented on this on other people's posts, but following my conversation this morning and previously with Nuance support for Dragon Naturally Speaking,

They tell me that 'officially' SDL is not compatible with Dragon, although it is in v13.

V15, however, stalls, delays and finally crashes the mouse, I end up having to wait up to 15 seconds for my words to come out.

There is no question of machine spec I think, since I've just updated to a 10th gen i7.

This is clearly not productive.

They (Nuance) say there are no plans for specific updates regards Trados, that I should speak to SDL about this, so here we are.

I have no idea what it could be obviously, so just putting it out there in case someone has a solution.

There is some discussion on knowbrainer about this but doesn't seem very conclusive except Perhaps try SP Pro.

Any thoughts?

  • Dear , Dear @Veroniqe Raguet,

Thanks a lot for your comments and the links! I really appreciate them. I had seen those links but had look into them in detail as they referred to Dragon Dictate 14.

I thought that Dragon Dictate had better integration with SDL Studio but now I understand that Studio is not compatible with Dragon Dictate 14 either. It seems to be the same as for Dragon 15.  Disappointed

We have a colleague who needs to work without typing for medical reasons and we need to find a solution where they can work with a CAT Tool typing as little as possible (ideally no typing).

I will ask her to see if creating custom comments works for her in Dragon Dictate 15!

    Many, many thanks! Slight smile

    Daniel
