Alignement, edit mode missing in Studio 2019

Hi,

I use retrofit to update translated documents. Some times the alignement needs to be corrected.

Unfortunately there is no edit mode available within the alignement view.

Screenshot of Trados Studio alignment view showing two columns of text segments with numbers indicating their position. No edit mode icon visible.

It is also missing when I start an alignement of a single file pair from welcome screen.

Studio help tells me, there shoeld be this Icon: Close-up of Trados Studio toolbar with 'Alignment Edit Mode' icon highlighted, indicating the feature to edit alignments.

Selecting Segments and rightclick does also not offer a possiblility to connect - for example if I try it with segment left57 and right56in screen above.

How can I reache the edit mode? Do I missunderstand aligment?

Many thanks

Ralf

  • First, many thanks for the answers.

No edit mode, so I tried with select and rightclick, this works, until I reach segment 55. This segment is removed within the proofed dokument.

If I try to connect segments left56 with right55 there is no connect offered by rightclick, see screen undeneath.

If I try to select segments left55 + left56 + right55, then I have connect on rigthclick, but I get a connect from left55 to right55 (yes this is not accurate, but if this would be the only problematic segment, I can correct it afterwards manually).

How can I get around this?

Screenshot of Trados Studio showing segments 54 to 63 with segment 55 missing on the right side. Right-click menu open with no 'connect' option for segment 55.
