Studio 2014 : bug?

Hello,

I used to work with Studio 2011 - it worked perfectly.

Now I just installed Studio 2014 and one out of 5 or 7 segments generates a problem when I start typing : I get a serie of numbers at the top, or I am forwarded to SDL Web site AND I cannot type my translation, except if a press 'escape' several times or insert one or two spaces with my space bar.

Can someone explain to me why I get this?

Someone told me yesterday it could be because I keep my fonger too long on 'alt' (when doing ctrl+alt+enter) - which opens up a shortcut. The thing is I never had this problem with Studio 2011.

Many thanks in advance for your help

  • Hi Maryline,

The new ribbon in Studio 2014 uses the alt key to activate the ribbon commands.  If you do this and then hit a key relating to the numbers that appear then this would activate something... and there is a shortcut to take you to the SDL website.  So if you were translating and you hit Alt+E+O then this would take you to www.sdl.com

You can't turn this off I'm afraid as this is default behaviour for the ribbon.  Perhaps it would be worth changing your shortcut so you don't use the Alt?  Ctrl+Enter may be enough for your needs and don't use the Alt key at all?
