These are essentially Bilingual DOC files which can be handled in Studio. This article may help:

Hi
These are activated on my side but I could not find what I was looking for in your link
I would like to open the bilingual word file and see on the left side the source and on the right side the target
Unless I am mistaken, the article does not explain how to do it
I opened the word bilingual file in studio but only have the target in the source side (the target side being blanck)
If the file you got is not a Word file (docx) but a txlf file, all you need to do is add this extension to your File Type definition for xliff, as shown below; make sure not to add any spaces, just ";*.txlf" (without the quotes):
After doing this, you will be able to open Wordfast files in SDL Trados Studio.
Apologies... I assumed you would know about filetype priorities. As it's essentially a word file you need to make sure that the SDL Translators Workbench filetype is above the word filetypes, otherwise the file will just be opened as a monolingual file:

I currently have the same issue experienced 2 years ago by Laetitia ZUMSTEIN .
(Please note that this message relates to Trados Studio 2017)
I set file type priorities correctly and the editor preview looks nice but when I create the actual project the target content is reported on the left-hand side column.
Has any 2017 user managed to find a workaround for that?
