SDL Studio 2019: "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" after trying to confirm a segment

Hi all,

Since a few days, I receive the error message "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation" each time I try to confirm a segment.

I reset Studio, desinstalled/reinstalled it, but nothing changed.

SDL team also suggested me to "Reset window layout", but it changed nothing.

It does not help me from translating/proofreading nor delivering a project, but I cannot commit any segment to the TM any more, so the fuzzies and reps do not propagate and it's pretty damaging for big projects.

I changed nothing to my computer, did not install a software or anything before this problem appears.

Any idea of where the error could come from?

Thank you,

Chloé

In the meantime, , here is some information that will help you provide the right info to get help:

"When posting a question, the more detail you can provide the better.

It is always helpful if you can provide as much information as possible regarding the issue, along with your actual Studio version, (Help> About Studio), the Operating System and MS Office version.

You can add also add images and files -

Screenshot of Trados Studio forum post editor with a tooltip showing 'Insert imagevideofile' option highlighted.

And include the 'error stack' if you have one.

Error dialog box in Trados Studio with a red cross icon and an 'OK' button, indicating an unspecified error has occurred.

Simply save the error stack to your desktop and add this to your post."

The 'error stack' is an error report file that will help diagnose the problem. So, confirm a segment and when the error message appears, click in the square blue icon and make sure you save it to somewhere you can find it, then drag it to a new post on this thread or add it via 'Insert>Image/video/file' as in this image:

Close-up of Trados Studio forum post editor with 'Insert' menu expanded showing 'Imagevideofile' option.

The above info was provided by Steven in response to a similar request for help at Exception has been thrown...

This Windows error message can be triggered by many things so is not specific enough to diagnose the problem.

    I hope this helps,
