I have received a project package...

Hello. I have recently received a project package (I have never worked wit bthose before). It contains one .xls file. I was asked to translate and sedn the package back. Does a package like this already contain a TM that belongs to it?How do I update it? Does it update while I save the translated file or do I have to click on "update project memories"? If I create a return package, is the updated TM automatically sent back within the package?

After I opened the file in editor it shows: Project 12345_excel_TM_IT_EN. Does that mean the TM is included and updated while working with it?

I am sorry, I am confused. I usually get a file, log on to trados, create a project, add the file, create TM, etc. This is new for me and I don` t want to blow it.

Thanks so much!!

  • Hi

A project package may include a TM or not, this depends on the choice made by the person who created the package. If the package contains a TM, you will see this TM in your project settings and you can use it to get matches from it. In addition, you should however also add your own TM to the project (with the update box ticked) in order to have it updated with the segments you confirm as the TM included in the package will not be sent back in the return package.

The return package only contains your updated bilingual files, it dos NOT contain any TM or  termbase!
