It looks to me as though you are trying to tick the Main TM that was used to create a Project TM that is attached to a package you received.  Can you use the option to connect this way and then apply the credentials your customer provided?

Thank you for your quick reply. I will contact the customer in the morning and ask if they could prepare a project for test purposes and perform like you suggest.

No luck with this. The error messages is shown and the server-based TM is greyed out.

Well... you've got us stumped with this one!  We've never seen this before:

Is it possible to see the project package you received for this?  If it is can you send it to pfilkin@sdl.com

Thanks for sending the project in.  In the meantime the support team figured out what causes this.  I note this isn't a package, but rather it's a GroupShare project.  In this case the access you have is controlled by permissions on the GroupShare server.  If you have been defined as a "Translator" for example, then the default settings don't give you permissions to add any TMs.  You can see them if they are already there and enabled, but you can't add them if they are not.

I think this is something your customer is going to have to resolve and double check what permissions you have been allocated.  Since you have to log into the server when you open the project this is what's controlling your access and it's also what's defined what's possible when the project has been downloaded from the server in the first place..
