unclean translated Trados 2007 segmented doc to be imported in Studio

Hi

I'm wondering if anybody would know of a better solution to:

1. quickly create a "translated Stdio 2019/21 project just out of translated and segmented unclean document prepared with Traosnlator's Workbench and Word.  I don't have source at hand and no translation memories that woudl help me in pretransaltiong it,

There are several options and the initial idea was that I:

.- use segmented and unclean bilingual doc file to populate document specific translation memory.

.- use SDL Legit to prepare the new segmented and bilingual file and then use  the generated TM to pretranslate it.

The option si to convert segmetned unclean documetn to txt > generate / convert to TMX > created SDLTM > use this to pretransalte.

As such process is manual and unreliable I'm looking for another solution.

What could help me 100% would be:

- suggestion regarding FileType or it's modification that would use translated (unclean) segmented bilingual doc file to populate both sides of SDLXLIFF.

or

- a conversion process of translated (unclean) segmented bilingual doc to TTX

or

- a tool / process to convert translated (unclean) segmented bilingual doc to TMX or SDLTM.

There are several 100 of such documents to be processed. :-(

Thank you

Simon

  • Hi Paul,

Yes I have, but it was not working for me. :-( Not sure why.

I checked it on another computer ... and It did work.  Not sure if it was something to the document / regional settings or just un-restarted machine after Windows update wanted to force the update.

Now it look ok, but there are stil some SDL XLIFF validation errors I will need to look in.

Trados Studio error message displaying 'SDL XLIFF validation error at line 1254 offset 200261: The key sequence '10' in 'urn:oasis:names:tc:xliff::document:1.2:U_tu_segsrc_mid' Keyref fails to refer to some key.'

I'll try to reproduce the issue and If I succeeded, I'll update this post.

The error I'm getting now say:

SDL XLIFF validation error at line 1254 offset 200261: The key  sequence '10' in 'urn:oasis:names:tc:xliff::document:1.2:U_tu_segsrc_mid' Keyref fails to refer to some key.

    Thank you for now.
