How to change segment status after removing a TM (SDL Studio 2019)

I received a studio package from a client, which includes a TM.
Certain segments have appeared as FUZZY due to partial compliance with the customer's TM.
I have my own TM, which includes full compatibility with those segments, which I added to the system resources.
After I performed "Pre-Translate", these segments were marked 100% and updated in the system with the reference to my personal TM.

The client has no problem with the translation, but he wants to maintain the original status of the segment, for example, if it was 87% he wants to see it still as such, for follow-up and proofreading.
Before delivering the package to the customer, I delete my TM, but the status remains 100% and there is still a reference to my TM that no more exist in the system.

How can I delete the reference to my TM, and restore the original status of the segment as if it was manually edited?

Thanks a lot in advance!

  • I'm surprised the pre-translate overwrote the original fuzzy value.  The only way I can do this is if I used this option:

Trados Studio settings window showing Pre-translate settings with 'Overwrite existing translation if better match found' option checked.

If you don't use that, rather use the overwrite if a better match is found, then you won't get 100%, you'll retain the original but the translation will be yours:

Trados Studio settings window with an arrow pointing to the 'Overwrite existing translation if better match found' option.

Having said this, I do wonder why the match value doesn't change to edited, because it feels as though it should.  I'll discuss this internally, but at least it will get you what you wanted and your client can find the changes by running a Translate to Fuzzy.

How can I delete the reference to my TM, and restore the original status of the segment as if it was manually edited?

I don't think you can restore the fuzzy value.  You need to do this at the time.  But you can remove your TM name using this app and replace it with the one you want as long as you don't need to only change specific ones:

    https://appstore.sdl.com/language/app/sdl-batch-anonymizer/1072/

Trados Studio settings window for SDL Batch Anonymizer app with tool tips explaining how to remove or replace the name of the TM.

If yo need to change specific ones you'd have to do some regex jiggery pokery in the sdlxliff itself.
