Alt+e (Polish "ę") keybord shortcut doesn't work

Hi,

I'm currently using demo version of Trados Studio. I operate in Polish and I have a problem with typing Polish "ę" letter while creating records in term base. "ę" is coded by alt+e keyboard shortcut. It works fine while normally translating but fails in the term base editor window. The consultant which advises me said, he unsuccessfully tried to solve this problem and that it was probably a kind of bug. Anybody knows how to solve it?

  • There is no bug for Polish in Studio. Which kind of keyboard are you using? From what I know there is no keyboard layout for Polish, where ę would be entered with the ALT+E combination. When you use QWERTY in Windows, ę is entered with ALTGR+E, NOT ALT. And ALTGR is the same as ALT+CTRL, so please check, which shortcut in Studio is assigned to CTRL+ALT+E.

  • I do use QWERTY. And you're right about the ALT-ALTGR stuff, I should've been more accurate.

Still, the problem exists, whether it is a bug or not. And the solution to this problem definitely has nothing to do with shortcuts in Studio - I had checked it before and so had the consultant I mentioned. No shortcut in studio is coded by CTRL+ALT+E. Moreover, just like I said before, the shortcut works perfectly fine while typing in the source text window and in the target text window. The only place in the Studio program it does not work is the term base.

Having said that, any other ideas?
