rejected terms

Hi,

I am exercising the "rejected" status field for my terms and demanding all my colleagues to run Terminology Verifier with the "rejected" fields ticked prior to handover any document

Trados Studio Project Settings window showing Verification Settings with 'Rejected obsolete' and 'Rejected deprecated' ticked under Term blacklist fields.

But it turns out that the feature is half useless as it searches for rejected terms all over the document, but not against (with due account for) the source term.

Trados Studio term entry showing English term 'train' with approved status and Russian term ' ' marked as 'Rejected deprecated'.

Why it complains that I can not translate LINE as ЛИНИЯ in every other segment with the LINE word on source side. My rejected ЛИНИЯ refers the TRAIN source term only.

Train

Нитка (approved)

Технологическая нитка (approved)

Линия (rejected)

Line

Линия (Approved)

Trados Studio error report window displaying multiple 'Term not used' errors for the term 'Train' translated as ' ' in various segments.

  • Thanks Daniel, it really helps to understand that this is a known issue, not a bug. :)
I am not for any upvotes, just noted useless functionality while comparing CAT tools to go with.

Such as issues with proper term recognition (not recognized in many occasions), automated suggestion of rejected terms (such a nonsense!), no intuitive (color) differentiation of rejected/approved terms, no proper and established methodology of handling abbreviations in the termbase (lets say exporting a termbase to Word dictionary for proper external usage/review I am loosing one or another source term and exported become useless) and so on and on

Thanks. Staying with my CAT for the moment
