100% matches not showing up in second file of the same project

Hello,

I am very new to Trados, this is probably very simple but I ddn't manage to find a solution online. I use Studio 2021.

The problem is this:

I just started translating the second file in a package which has 8 subfolders. I was sent a project TM and also created my own local TM.

Both files (the one I just finished, 1.8 and the one I just started, 1.9) have the same table of contents, but when I started translating the second file, I noticed that none of the 100% matches show up and I am having to copy paste each individual segment form 1.8 to 1.9 to ensure consistency.

I  updated the "main TM" and "project TM" through "Batch tasks", but to no avail.

(BTW, I tried to insert screen shots in this message, but when click on insert image/vido file, it requests an URL for some reason, so I'm not sure how to attach them).

  • Hi Isabelle,

The most likely reason for this is that you do not have the Update box ticked in your project settings:

Trados Studio project settings window with an error message stating no translation memories or automated translation providers for certain language pairs.

Also, as you're using a project memory (sorry, there isn't one in the above image), you need the following box ticked to see the contents of both translation memories:Trados Studio project settings showing options for translation memory and automated translation with the 'Update' box unchecked.

I hope it is this simple!

To insert an image, the quickest way is to use the clipping tool to take a picture, then insert it into your post in this thread using Ctrl+V.

To use the method you tried, click on 'Upload' beneath the URL dialog and a window will open via which you can navigate to the image/whatever you wish to insert:

Trados Studio file upload window overlaid on a file explorer, with the 'Upload' button highlighted.

    All the best,
