100% matches not showing up in second file of the same project

Hello,

I am very new to Trados, this is probably very simple but I ddn't manage to find a solution online. I use Studio 2021.

The problem is this:

I just started translating the second file in a package which has 8 subfolders. I was sent a project TM and also created my own local TM.

Both files (the one I just finished, 1.8 and the one I just started, 1.9) have the same table of contents, but when I started translating the second file, I noticed that none of the 100% matches show up and I am having to copy paste each individual segment form 1.8 to 1.9 to ensure consistency.

I  updated the "main TM" and "project TM" through "Batch tasks", but to no avail.

(BTW, I tried to insert screen shots in this message, but when click on insert image/vido file, it requests an URL for some reason, so I'm not sure how to attach them).

"Question improvement suggestion": To improve your question, it would be helpful to provide more details about the steps you've taken to troubleshoot the issue. For example, have you checked your project settings to ensure that the Update box is ticked? Have you tried to see the contents of both translation memories? Also, providing the exact version of Trados Studio 2021 you are using could be beneficial.

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello Isabelle,

Based on your description, it seems like you might not be seeing 100% matches because the settings in your project might not be configured correctly. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot this issue:

Step 1: Open your project in Trados Studio 2021.

Step 2: Navigate to the "Project Settings" menu.

Step 3: In the "Language Pairs" section, select "All Language Pairs" or the specific language pair you are working with.

Step 4: Click on "Translation Memory and Automated Translation".

Step 5: Make sure the "Update" box is ticked for your project Translation Memory (TM).

Step 6: If you're using a project TM, ensure the "Lookup" box is ticked for both your main TM and project TM. This will allow you to see the contents of both TMs.

Step 7: Click "OK" to save your settings.

After following these steps, try translating your second file again and see if the 100% matches show up. If they still don't, there might be other factors at play, such as the match value settings or the segment status.

Regarding the issue with inserting screenshots, you can try using the "Upload" button beneath the URL dialog to attach your images. If you're still having trouble, you can use the clipping tool to take a screenshot and then paste it directly into your post using Ctrl+V.
