Error message: A task was canceled - Studio 2021

Hi,

It is almost 2 days that when I open a project in Studio 2021, the error message: "A task was canceled" appears. Since I canceled no task, I click on the cross on top right to close the message and together with it, also Studio 2021 stops working and closes down.

Error message in Trados Studio 2021 displaying 'A task was canceled' with an OK button and a red cross icon.

I cannot work anymore in this way.

Can anybody help in this matter?

Thanks in advance.

Laura

  • Hello ,

This is not an error that I have seen before.

Could you please post the full error stack

Error message popup in Trados Studio with instructions: 1) Click on the icon, 2) Save the XML file to your desktop, 3) Add file to the thread.

and also confirm if this is purely a local project, or a cloud project that you created or perhaps a project package that you may have received.

Also please tell us when this error occurs and if it only happens with this project.

The more information you provide, the easier it is to try and help you.

  • I checked where you indicated and found out that something with IATE connection was the cause.

Since I linked IATE plug-in only to this specific project, I canceled it from the project and for the moment I got the error message no more.

I have not clear which is the reason of the correlation with IATE plug-in and the task canceled (?) but now everything works.

I will come back if the problem persists.

    Thank you for the tip!

  • Hello  ,

I have experienced that same error in a current local project.

I have then disabled all the possible features I could, including a translation memory (which would need to be updated though), and the problem seems gone.

Here below the error message log:
