Too many problems in Studio 2021
Too many problems in Studio 2021
Same experience --- hopefully more and more linguists start complaining!! version is a mess!
Gregory Meul Francisco Carrera
Please make sure you are both running the following:
SDL Trados Studio 2021 - 16.1.3.4096
SDL MultiTerm 2021 - 16.1.1.541
That would be the first thing to check.

I just bought the software I am totally disappointed, It is a Mess!
Just solved one problem and another came and now is fatal, I can DO NOTHING!
I am not paying for a software that needs constant fixes ! Is SDL selling a beta crap?
I am not planning in becoming an expert troubleshooter -
What is SDL doing to fix this ASAP?
Can not believe this
A third problem now...
Totally frustrated - One error after another - Now I am unable to use it!
And yes, it is SDL Trados Studio 2021
SDL Trados Studio 2021 - 16.1.3.4096
SDL MultiTerm 2021 - 16.1.1.541
FULL OF ERRORS !! A TRUE NIGHTMARE!
It would be more helpful f you also told us what you were doing when you get these errors, and also if you shared the full error stack as I advised in another post.
I suggest you carry out a reset so you are working with a clean version of Studio and then consider adding back any plugins you are using one at a time so we can try and see why these problems are occurring. Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16_old
So the paths would become this:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16_old
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16_old
If you can't find these folderf then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:
https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/show-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-vista/
If you're still having problems after resetting and working without any other plugins for now then I'll log a support case on your behalf. But it's worth doing this first because this is what the support team will do as a matter of course before they go any further. You won't get help from support until Monday at the earliest so you may as well try this yourself now.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your quick reply.
I do have the last version of Studio 2021 installed. Will install the last version of Multiterm and see if it gets any better. I'm still working on an older version.
Sorry if my cry for help sounds a bit desperate. But the higher you get in version, the less problems you expect. And I've never encounterd as many problems as with 2021. Moreover, there are still issues that have been there since the very beginning of Trados. Not problematic issues, but actions which could be make a translator's life easier. I'm really under the impression that the program has never been properly tested and evaluated by a translator at the SDL development department. Only by software developers.
Anyway will stop nagging. It's weekend and I want to start it on a positive vibe. Hopefully your tips will be helpful. And otherwise, I'll be back :)
Have a nice weekend,
Greg
Hi again,
Just installed the last version of Multiterm but the problem persists. So don't know what to do anymore.
Should I remove all older versions of Studio, like 2015 and 2007? Do you reccon that can make a difference?
Regards,
Greg
