My studio crashes abruptly

My Studio crashed twice and a message popped up saying the following:

"quick drive updater found that SDL trados studio has abruptly crashed on your computer, you may find the details by clicking on the link below. It is adviced that you scan your system with quick driver updater to find and resolve any potential problem."

I ran the scan and I restarted the pc. Then it did it again but before that, I disabled the option in defender that blocked the folder of SDL trados, so I can save my work, as at the moment I had it added in the protected files on windws defender

Then I tried to resume my work and when I tried to save a new term, a message popped up saying that microsoft jet could not open the file (the glossary) as it was open in exclusive mode by another user or I needed permission to view his/her data.

Yesterday, I gave remote access to someone to install an e signature on my email and I don't know if I had to do something when he finished his work.

After I checked the project configuration, it seeemed like the TM and the glossary had been disabled somehow. But when I tried to open the glossary, the program said that the term base had to be updated. I tried to do that and the program crashed again and the message of scanning the system with quick driver update was shown again. So I decided to post this question.

    You mentioned that someone had remote access to your PC. 

    Whilst doing so, they may have added another account, meaning when you boot the PC/Studio, that you are not running under your own ADMIN account.

    Please check your account settings and ensure that you are logged in as ADMIN.

    Also when starting Studio- right click and run as Admin.

    If the problem persists, please provide us will the full error stacks/messages and images where possible which could help us identify the issue, along with the exact Studio and Windows versions.

  • Hello Steven Thank you for your answer. Mi PC started doing weird things on Word as well, so I rang up the custumer support from the Laptop and they told me that it may be a conflict between the 2021 studio version and the 2019 win 10 version and verification is needed to see if I need a particular application to run studio 21 smoothly, apparently

    When Studio crashed, a window popped up saying that Quick driver needed updates. If yu dont upgrade, you gotta do them one by one, First one was not aproblem but the second one created a problem that my pc couldnt start. It got restored to a point where it was working properly but now I need to re boot the pc following a series of instructions that they sent me. I still havent done it, as I want to clarify a situation with my downloads of the program. When they sold me the freelance plus version at TRANSECONOMY (Argentina) they specifically said to me that I ony have 2 downloads available and I posted that question in this forum and someone told me that I have unlimited downloads. So I first want to clarify that (I emailed transeconomy this morning too).

    But in the meantime I can confirm you that I am logged as an administrator in the pc, Ive checked that. 

    If you want the report of the errors? I think you can get them somewhere
