Thank you. This solution actually works but doesn't suit me, as the format is totally cleaned and I can't deliver such a document to my client. And I can't spend hours changing the format of the file after translation either (380 pages!) .

is there any other solution? is there a way to find out where the problem with the format is exactly?

I've witnessed this as well in a 100-page Word document. It's a problem of formatting in the document… It was always a shitty character in the middle of a paragraph.

Halving the document as you have done and checking if that half is ok is the way to know where the problem is and then edit it in Word. You don't need to change the formatting of the whole document. For my 100-document, I think it took me less than a half and hour to solve the problem. 200 more pages shouldn't take much longer…

If you manage to clean the document at the exact problematic spot, you won't need to re-format the translated document.
