Editing a project template without doing it at the end of the creation of a project with that same template

Hello!

In a project template, is there a way to change the settings that are in the second window during the project creation (see first screen capture below) without creating a project with that template and telling Studio to modify it at the very end?

The date in the capture is integrated in the project template and I would like to modify it. Incidentally, I would also like to know if I can check or uncheck the boxes regarding the editing of the source.

I know I can modify that at the end of the creation of a project using the template in question. But I would like to know if there is a way to do it from the project templates section (second capture below). Thank you so much!

  • Hi Paul! Sorry for the late reply.

Yes you can.  Just select the template and "Modifier..."

Yeah. That. I know. ;P. The thing is, when I open the template to modify, I cannot find the settings section where I can modify the date or check/uncheck the boxes for the editing of the source (date and boxes shown in my first screen cap). I've done a bit of research and I can't find anything on it. Thanks!

  • I cannot find the settings section where I can modify the date or check/uncheck the boxes for the editing of the source (date and boxes shown in my first screen cap).

These are not things you can apply to a Project Template.

The editing of source you can solve by setting this when you create a project and then applying to the competed project.  Although I'm not sure why this isn't a setting on a template because I think it should be.  Maybe one for to look at?

The date however is never a template setting for obvious reasons.

You can set both of these on your completed project though:

Trados Studio Project Settings dialog box with options for notification email, location, and due date settings visible.

  • Hi Paul! Thank you for answering. I thought the date wouldn't be there, but, yes, it would be very useful if the editing of the source would be in the template settings.

Thank you again a have a great day!
