Problems with translation from Hebrew since last update

Hello,

I have installed the latest update for Trados 2021 today. Since the installation I am having a problem with source segments that contain both English and Hebrew. The words are getting messed up. Sometimes the numbers appear backwards too (54321 instead of 12345).

Please see two screenshots attached. In the first one the word should be EGFR and not RFGE. In the second one the Hebrew has partially turned to Gibberish and the web address is completely messed up. These look fine in the original documents.

I tried to work on several documents, and the problem repeats. Is there a way to fix this or uninstall the last update?

  • Thanks for sending the file.  The source file doesn't actually contain any BiDi controls so I also get this:

Screenshot showing an email address highlighted with BiDi control markers in Trados Studio.

However, if I insert a LTR marker in Word here:

Screenshot of the 'Insert Symbol' dialog in Word with the Left-To-Right Mark selected and its Unicode details.

Then when I open the file in Studio I see this:

Screenshot of Trados Studio displaying Hebrew text with an email address, indicating correct Left-To-Right text direction after inserting LTR marker.

Having said all of this I also appreciate that this was not required in earlier versions so we have clearly made some undesirable changes here and I can see that this is not an acceptable workaround if there is a lot of LTR text in the document.  I'll log this for further investigation with the support team.
