Tokens (i.e. placeables) not recognised...

In one particular project I'm working on, "tokens" i.e. placeables such as dates, numbers and acronyms are not being recognised in the source text and therefore I can't use Ctrl+comma to insert them as I type. I have checked and double checked the TM settings and all the relevant boxes are ticked. In fact, using the same TM for another project, placeables come up marked in blue and everything is normal. What could I be missing? I am using Trados Studio 2021 SR1 - 16.1.4.4184.

  • The reason may also be the usage of spaces or non-breaking spaces in numbers and so on. Studio requires the text to be written exactly as the rules for the source language are. Example: let us assume, we have Polish numbers here. A decimal separator is , and the thousand separator a non-breaking space, which I will show here as °

This is a correct number 1°234°567,89

The same number, incorrect: 1 °234°567.89

In first case (obviously wit h Polish as source language) Studio will recognize this as number. In the second case Studio will NOT recognize the number.
