Sdl Trados

Hello Alll,

I have issue wiht displaying SDLPROJ and SDLXLIFF in their normal format/colour

Screenshot of a Windows file explorer showing SDLPROJ and SDLXLIFF files highlighted in green instead of their normal colors, indicating an issue with file association in Trados Studio.

On picture above, you notice that all PROJ file and SXLII files are have the same colour, green.

When I double click on this XLIFF file, it does not open directly for translation, it just opens as the welcome page of sdl

Is there anything that can be done?

  • On the other hand, I double click projects every day in Windows Explorer, and they open fine in Trados Studio. Doing this way or from Trados Studio depends on a personal choice I think.

For projects and packages a double-click is fine.

However, double clicking sdlxliff files is really asking for trouble. Each time such a file is opened anew in Studio, it creates a new project. And if someone does not realize that, the result will be dozens of TMs and sdlxliff files all over the place. I strongly advise against double clicking, if you are not really familiar with Studio.
