Translation comments not showing in exported Word file

I've searched around and can't find this question anywhere, so here goes.

Recently, whenever I export my completed translations to Word for submissions, my comments left in Trados are not being reflected in the exported Word file. This wastes tons of time as I wind up copy/pasting all the comments from Trados over to Word after exporting. Not sure if I've ticked a box or somehow disabled this somewhere, and don't even know where to check if I did! Any advice?

  • Hi ,

In the File tab -top left side - or Project Settings, if you only want to apply this to the project, not as a general rule - go to Options>Filetypes: Microsoft Word, - your word version - go to Common option and tick the checkbox indicating "Retain Studio target comments in the target file"

And confirm the changes with OK:

Trados Studio Options menu with File Types expanded showing Microsoft Word selected. Common options displayed with 'Retain Studio target comments in target file' checkbox ticked.

Is this what you were looking for?
