I wrote asking for support but I was told that there is no support availlable anymore for Studio 2019.
Where did you write and who told you this? Trados Studio 2019 is very much still in support.
I just translated a fairly big powerpoint file, but I cannot save the finished target file to powerpoint.
Please try this:
Did that work? If it did then pre-translate the pptx from the TM you used in your original project and save the target again. Hopefully this will work.
If you were unable to save the PPTX after following the quick test above then the problem is with the PPTX... or at least Trados Studio has a problem with it, either because it's corrupt in some way or we have a bug that needs to be resolved. If this is the case you can send the original source file and the fully translated SDLXLIFF from your project to me at pfilkin@sdl.com so we can look at it and see whether we can get your target file out.

Hi Paul,
I did not know I could get help in this site. Thinking the problem was Studio 2019, I did the upgrade (I had read that this type of error was fixed in the new version). The problem remained.
I did the first test you suggested with Studio 2021 and the same error message appears. I will send you the files so you can look at it.

I got the following answer from support :
This issue is caused by a defect concerning the PPTX file type and the embedded Excel content within the file. I have attached the working sdlxliff and target file but some segments might be missing from the translation and there is nothing we can do about it until the defect is solved unfortunately.
For future reference this is what I did:
The problem seems to be partially solved. Thank you for looking into it.

Go to File > Options > File Types > Microsoft PowerPoint 2007-2019 > Common 2. Un-tick the option Embedded Excel charts and sheets, click on OK 3. Re-create the project in Trados Studio
The other solution to this as I looked at this again this morning is to open the embedded excel file in Excel for slide #57 only. You'll see that three of the cells are coloured with a yellow background. This colour doesn't actually show in the powerpoint presentation anyway. If you remove the colour and save the file then it will work.
Good for us to fix this problem but also handy to know what the problem actually is, especially because unchecking that option means you won't be able to handle any of the embedded charts and in your file there are many of them.

Needless to say I will be very careful from now on before processing a ppt file with embedded Excel files! Thanks again for your help
