In March I purchased a licence for the SDL Trados Studio 2021 upgrade and subsequently downloaded and installed build no. 16.1.4.4184.
Since then, I have persistently had two separate problems:
- Studio constantly indicates "No internet connection," even though I can log on to my account through Studio. Clicking on "Retry" does not help. Nor does repairing the installation.
- Whenever I launch Studio, ALL projects are listed, even though the status is set to "In progress." The only workaround is to change the status to "Show all" and then back to "In progress". However, the next time I launch Studio, ALL projects appear once more.
Seeing that several other users had an identical problem with the internet connection, I followed the instructions given to these queries, all to no avail.
Specifically:
- I deleted the file LanguageCloudMAchineTranslation.bin
- I sent Paul Filkin my log files (I got no reply)
- I do not use a proxy
- I can access http://1.1.1.1
- I added exceptions for the Studio and MultiTerm programs in my antivirus (Kaspersky)
- I added exceptions for the listed sites to my antivirus (Kaspersky)
Bizarrely enough, at some point, Studio DID connect and indeed automatically installed build no. 16.1.6.4276. However, this did NOT solve either problem, which persist to this day. The next time I launched Studio, the "No internet connection" warning appeared again.
One user found that uninstalling Studio 2021 and reinstalling it resolved the internet problem. When I try to uninstall Studio, I get an error message that a different version is installed.
I sincerely hope you can help me with this because my only workaround is to work with the old version of the software: Studio 2019. So basically I've thrown money out of the window on an upgrade that doesn't work.
