Hi everybody,
Working with Studio 21 SR1. After installting SR1 yesterday, I keep getting this error message
"TM Data have been damaged.
The TM XYZ cannot be opened and has been deactivated. Try to repair the TM entries/data with a TM repair application."
What do I do? What is a TM repair application? Where do I get it? Anything else I need to pay attention to?
Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hello Ulrike Trodler,
TM's are normally quite robust, but it is possible that they become corrupt which the error is possibly suggestion.
You can try and repair your TM, using the following app from the RWS AppStore
https://appstore.sdl.com/language/app/sdltm-repair/298/
To prevent the loss of data, we always suggest backing up your resources, which you can do also automate using the following application (from the RWS AppStore)

Thank you Steven, for the links and the info. Will have to have a go at it.
Ok, located the plug ins, downloaded them. They wouldn't "instal" automatically, so I manually copied them in the appropriate Studio folder on C:. It worked for the backup plug in, doesn't work for the repair one, it's just not there.
Also, when I set up a back-up routine for the backup to be saved in a dedicated folder, and "run" the backup, nothing happens, the backup folder remains empty.
Any suggestions? What have I done wrong? Which box have I forgotten to tick?
Clueless in Cologne.

My apologies - we have logged a bug regarding the TMBackup application and are looking into why this isn't working as it should.
Once we have fixed this, we will release a new version and I will update this thread.
Could you provide screenshots please of the plugins folders and what is actually available.
Can you also confirm you have admin rights on the PC as well please.

Please ensure Studio is closed. Then cut and paste the TMRepair plugin into the 'packages' folder.
Then restart Studio.
However as mentioned- we have discovered a bug, so this may not work for you- but its worth trying.

It worked, repair now appears in Studio under Add-Ins. I must say, I did wonder why the file was sitting there all on its own and the others were tucked away in different sub-folders :-D.
However, do I venture into a repair session with the TM before I can back it up? Can I just make a copy of the TM and stick it into a different folder? Does hand-copying (right click, etc.) keep the properties of the TM and could it be resused after? Mind, it's corrupted so a backup is not of much use, innit?

Yes- I would always suggest taking a copy and saving it somewhere safe before.
Unfortunately, if the TM is corrupt beyond repair, this won't help (but good advice moving forward and why the TMBackup should be used by everyone.

Good news, TM has now decided not to be corrupted. Don't ask me why and what made it change its mind - maybe it just had to make friends with SR1 ... I can open it and add it to projects and individual files to be translated. But I learned a lot in the process. Thank you
Note that, as indicates in his "Top Tip", sending an email notification requires knowing the person's username.
You can try using the display name, but if that doesn't work, you can find the username by right-clicking the person's picture or display name at the top of a post, selecting "Copy link address" and then pasting it somewhere.
For example, Paul Filken's display name is "Paul", but typing "@Paul" doesn't work.
If you copy and paste the link address, you will see that is: https://community.sdl.com/members/pfilkin
The "pfilkin" at the end is his username, so you can type "@pfilkin" to send an email notification to Paul.
