RWS Moravia LTGear3 -- having problems logging in

This window opens when I want to use this MT provider:

Trados Studio window for RWS Moravia MT Gear Plugin Options with empty fields for Client ID, Client Secret, and Configuration Alias. Two URLs are provided for configuration settings.

I have registered an account with RWS, but I don't understand Client ID, Client Secret nor Configuration Alias. Goïng to either of the two URLs given does not help me -- I cannot log in.

What should I do?

  • Thanks, Paul. This is the situation:

I have an account and I also received (after posting my question above) a second email -- Welcome to Microsoft MFA (the first one was "Your RWS Moravia account credentials" for activating the account) -- which was of some assistance. I have now logged in and can see this starting page:

Screenshot of Trados Studio user account page with options for Security information, Password, Devices, Organisations, Settings and confidentiality, and My logins.

Security information - Password - Devices - Organisations - Settings and confidentiality - My logins

But nothing here is of any help when it comes to filling in the LTGear box above.

However, thanks to the link you provided (which was, however, NOT provided in the information mails from RWS Moravia), I have now logged in (with the two-factor authentication) and arrived at this page:

Screenshot of LTGear Machine Translation List showing available MT Configurations with tabs for All Configs, Projects, Categories, Language Pair, Code, and Summary.

Still the problem is the same: I can't find here the information I need to use the plugin. (I have tried all the options in the top menu and the ones which open at left.)

Do you have any more suggestions?

  • Do you have any more suggestions?

Yes.  Seeing as you didn't see the link in 1. below (that was the one I gave you which you said you didn't have) perhaps you should try the link in 2. that says "Configurations":

Screenshot of RWS Moravia LTGear Plugin Options window with two red arrows pointing to a URL link labeled 1 and a 'Configurations' link labeled 2.

And if you still can't set it up perhaps contact the developer through this link provided in the appstore:

Close-up of 'Support and developer contact' section showing RWS Moravia LTGear icon and an email address with a red arrow pointing to it.

  • Sorry again -- I forgot to mention that I had indeed tried the two links in the LTGear window (though perhaps before I even had opened my account; I don't remember). The second one only tells me Access denied, so no help there.

I'll try the support contact. Thanks anyway for your patience. (There is so much to this feature and I am easily confused...)

  • Problem solved! In a way... Behind the statement "LTGear requires an RWS Moravia account" is this fact (provided by the ServiceDesk): "these credentials (client ID, secret etc.) should be provided to you by person who adviced you to use LTGear3. Please ask him or her if there is already client created for you and if not let he or she send us request to create one."

A bit cryptic, but I take it to mean that, as with Memsource, there must be an LSP or client company which uses LTGear and engages me as a freelance translator, providing me with the necessary credentials. All this is obviously nothing I can do by myself, even though I can create an LTGear account.
