So that we can try and reproduce this, can you tell us please the exact version of Studio you are running please (Help About Trados Studio) and whether you are using SRT file type out of the box, or the downloaded version from the AppStore.

It would be good if you could also share a sample file and screenshots of what you are seeing and what would be expected.

I use Trados Studio 2021 SR1 - 16.1.8.4404.

I have attached two screenshots:

• from the editor, where the Hebrew text is correctly represented
• from the target translation, where the punctuation marks appear at the beginning of the line instead of the end of the line.

I am using the app that comes with the software, meaning I simply translate a .srt file, just like any other file.

I really appreciate your help in this matter.

What happens if you delete the SRT filetype and use the out of the box subtitling filetype for this instead?  So remove or disable this filetype and create the project again using this one:

thanks for the suggestion. I tried that by creating a new project and disabling the SRT file, as you suggested. I noted that the file type is now the CC Subtitle formats, as shown in your screenshot. Unfortunately, the outcome was the same. The target file has exactly the same problems as in the previous example.

I have verified the problem and logged a support case - 00625233 - for the problem.  Once the support team have validated this they will most likely escalate to development for a fix.

In the meantime you could fix this fairly easily in a text editor that supports regex.  For example, search for this:

(.+)\.(?<=.)\r$

Replace with this:

.$1

At least that's the syntax for the editor I use.  I'll send you the file you sent me so you can check it and perhaps it'll be helpful?

I'm glad that you were able to verify this as a bug and I look forward to the next software update.

Meanwhile, I tried your suggestion in Notepad++, but unfortunately, it did not work. Please see the screenshot.

Furthermore, I took a look at the .srt file you fixed, and there is still an issue involving the mix of Hebrew and Latin characters.

The leftmost three elements should appear on the right in the order I marked, i.e. the line should look like this:

ok - looks like you might need \r\n in the expression instead for Notepad++... or something like that.

But that will only get you what I did and won't address the trickier problem you have identified here.  Probably possible to handle this with regex too, but needs a little more thinking time.  If I get time later I'll take a look.
