Terminology Verifier / False Positive for Khmer

Screenshot of Trados Studio showing a list of 7 warnings, all marked as false positives. The warnings relate to untranslated terms such as 'Color', 'Theme', 'User', 'Interactive control', 'Topic', 'Picture', and 'Resource'.

as yo may see in the screen shot, they are all False Positive. Any solution for this?

  • I had a play with the project and the termbase provided.  First of all, in Trados Studio using the local termbase:

Screenshot of Trados Studio showing a list of terms with several marked as 'missing' despite being present, indicated by a red arrow.

I checked a few as well as I could and Trados is indeed incorrectly reporting missing terms as this one more obvious example shows.

I then created a cloud termbase using the same resources.  First using a "Linguistic search" which is new in LC Terminology:

Screenshot of Trados Studio with a termbase search panel open, displaying a list of terms without any marked as missing.

Then using a "Fuzzy search" which is similar to the Trados Studio file-based TB approach:

Screenshot of Trados Studio with a termbase search panel open, showing all terms correctly found and no errors indicated.

So definitely better with the "Linguistic search", and it may be possible that some expert knowledge of the language could help to fine tune the settings for this.  So definitely worth trying, and clearly an improvement.

To create this Cago I used the Glossary Converter from the appstore as it's faster.  Use this format setting:

Screenshot of Glossary Converter settings with an arrow pointing to the format option 'MultiTerm Termbase > MultiTerm xdt + xml'.

Then when I drag and drop the SDLTB into the main interface of the app it returns the *.xdt and also the *.xml file.  I can then use the XDT in Language Cloud to create the termbase that matches the file-based one exactly, and I can import the XML into it.  Like this:

    Play this video

Then you just add it to your project by selecting this option:

Screenshot of Trados Studio project settings with a dialog box open for adding a cloud termbase to the project.

Just make sure that you have logged into Trados Studio to do this so it knows where to find your LC account.
