Problem "Dependency file not found"

Question

Hi, 
 When I work with SDL Trados Studio 2014 (Freelance), I have always the same problem. After reopening the sdxliff-files, the following error message appears:

It seems that the reason is that my computer deletes temporary files. I tried to find a solution in different Internet Forums, but nothing helped. I work with Windows 8.1 and I use Avast Free Antivirus.

Thanks Martin and Alison for your replies. I kept looking on the Internet and found a solution that worked for me. "What worked for me was to open each file and it asked "Would you like to browse for the file?" I clicked on Yes and it prompted me to browse for the file. I went to the folder where my original files were saved and selected the appropriate one (you have to change the temporary file name in the dropdown next to the file selection box to the original file name). After this the document opened and then I saved the file. Now when I open each document and get no error message. I'm also able to save target as in a new folder. I disabled the Norton 360 deletion of temporary files as FMM suggested to prevent the problem from reoccurring." 
I browsed for the original source file and selected it and reloaded it. Then the project opened correctly and I could finalize it and save the target. I have also disabled the Norton 360 deletion of temporary files so I hope I won´t be having this problem anymore if that is indeed what is causing the problem. Apparently when you leave your project open and Norton or other maintenance program starts to do that kind of maintenance in the background, that´s when the problem arises. Time will tell. Hope this solutions helps others.

Hi Martin, 
 Can you try switching off your antivirus for a little while to see whether this problem still occurs? Maybe disconnect from the internet for a little while when you do this. If the problem no longer occurs then this proves that the solution rests with creating an exception in your antivirus tool.

Thank you so much for the solution you provided as it resolved the issue very easily and was able to generate the Target file. 
 
The file I was working on was an English .docx file so when Studio asked "Would you like to browse for the file?" I said ’yes’ and went to the "\en-GB" sub-folder created by Studio 2014 in the Project folder. Then I chose the actual .docx file. 
 
In my case, this problem was originally caused by my Antivirus (Bullguard) which had decided to run an automatic "PC Tune Up" session in the background - while Studio was running - and empty the ’User Temp directory" (containing the Studio dependency file). Needless to say I have now unticked the ’Clean User Temp directory’ in Bullguard PC Tune Up settings!
